Lesley Forest Ceremonies: Weddings

Australian Marriage Celebrant: Traditional, Alternative, Celtic, Medieval, Religious, Theme

Your unique ceremony

Being a keen reader, I am continually looking for new material for my marriage ceremonies and have collected an extensive choice of poems, readings, vows, declarations, rituals and vows for children that help create a unique wedding ceremony that has special significance for you.

I am happy to help you write your own vows and/or ceremony if you prefer, and can provide all the material and help that you may need.

Either way, I will ensure that your wishes are translated into an unforgettable experience that suits your needs, beliefs and wishes and is enjoyed by all.

Wedding Arrangements

As a professional Marriage Celebrant, I have been appointed by the Department of the Attorney-General to solemnise marriages in Australia and therefore take care of all the legal requirements of your marriage ceremony. I proudly adhere to the Code of Practice set by the Attorney-General.

I embrace the 2017 changes in the marriage act to reflect that two people in love, regardless of their gender can now legally marry. Allow me to help you take the next step in your loving commitment to each other – a legal Marriage conducted with sincerity and style.

My role as your marriage celebrant is to take care of all of the details of your wedding ceremony to ensure a smooth flow on the day so that you can experience the ceremony of your dreams.

Step 1: Let's Meet!

Lesley Forest Wedding Ceremony

Arrange a time to get together with me for our first meeting. I am happy to meet with you to discuss my services under no obligation, but, if you decide to go ahead, we can complete the legal requirements (see below) at this meeting.

At the first meeting

  1. Explain the services that I provide.
  2. Discuss legal requirements.
  3. Complete and lodge "Notice of Intended Marriage" form with me (you will need to provide originals of Birth Certificates, Passports if not born in Australia and decree absolut or Certificate of Divorce if applicable)
  4. Discuss venue, music and special accessories (table, candles, flowers, pen).
  5. Discuss type of ceremony and any special features.
  6. Book date for rehearsal.
  7. I will give you a folder that contains a Wedding Plan as well as samples of all of the different parts of the wedding ceremony.
  8. I will write a personalised ceremony from the information that you provide and send it to you for your approval. With the folder that I provide, you will be able to swap around the readings and poems, vows, declarations, ring vows and children's vows as you wish. We can liaise over the telephone and/or email or in person until the ceremony is perfect for you.

Step 2: Rehearsal

  • Discuss the logistics of the wedding day.
  • Check music and accessories.
  • Liaise with readers (if present).
  • Walk through ceremony.

Step 3: The Wedding Day

I will arrive at your wedding venue up to an hour before the commencement to oversee the set-up of the registry table and to co-ordinate with the venue manager, person in charge of the music, photographer, videographer and the readers to ensure that your wedding ceremony runs smoothly.

I look forward to making your wedding day something special and unique, one that you and your family and friends will remember always.
